About Me

Relatively speaking, putting pen to paper has been very therapeutic for me. Feelings and thoughts, no matter how random, pointless, inquisitive, or informative, the freedom to express is medicine for my soul.

This blog welcomes fans of movies, television, food, the NBA, and the Los Angeles Lakers. The contents posted here are what makes me happy when the rest of the world makes me sigh. Talking about such trivial yet entertaining matter has helped me through the doldrums of life. I created this blog to appease my own passions, but anyone who stumbles across this site is more than welcome to comment or debate at any time on any topic.

The menu:

  • kNOw movies, kNOw life. My passion for the cinema and the tube is unheralded. I honed my Six Degrees craft from working at Tower Records/Video for over 15 years. While it would be impossible for me to review everything I’ve ever seen, I’ll post things I watch here on out, along with selective choices from the past. The movies and shows I review will be rated on the $ system. (A rating legend is posted on the Rating System page.)

  • Basketball is my religion, the NBA is my church, and the Los Angeles Lakers is my belief. I’ve been a devoted fan since 1985, and yes, I am the type who follows every trade, every transaction, every story line on a continual basis. I consider myself the Jack Nicholson of Laker fans in that I schedule my life around watching the team.

  • I eat to live but love to eat. I’m always searching for surprises in local and national cuisine, and am not prejudice towards any culture. Chamorro, Hawaiian, Italian, Japanese, Mexican, Soul, Thai, etc,…pasta, oysters, loco mocos, pork adobo, escargot, red rice, cheesecake, acai bowls…if they make it, I’ll try it at least once. Twice if it’s good. Food and drink when done right can be sinful. Because of the way it stimulates the mind and stirs so many emotions, it should be downright illegal. Finding the perfect pairing can result in such heavenly bliss. Just imagine…a perfectly marbled rib-eye steak accompanied by an ice-cold beer. A 7 course Chinese feast followed by a hot cup of green tea. The freshest serving of ahi toro or hamachi sushi with sips of Japanese sake. Or simply a burger, fries, and a coke. The combinations are endless, and so is the quest.
